And a voice came from the throne, saying, “Give praise to our God, all you His bond-servants, you who fear Him, the small and the great.”
Revelation19:5
A kindergarten teacher wanted to infuse her school day with opportunities to praise God. She realized that she walked into her storage room numerous times during the day collecting such things as art supplies, kick balls for recess, and tissues for runny noses, and so she decided that in these brief moments she would lift up an offering of praise to God.
“Thank You, Lord, for giving me wisdom today,” she would whisper right after the bell rang in the morning.
“Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised!” she said as she put on her sweater to go outside.
“Your loving-kindness is better than life,” she would hum as she grabbed an extra box of chalk later in the day.
What a wonderful idea this teacher had!
We can follow her example, examining our daily routines for snippets of time in which to offer up praises to the Almighty.
A stay-at-home mom might praise the Lord at traffic lights as she is running her errands.
An office worker might find her moments of praise in the break room.
The more we praise God, the more we will feel the joy of His presence in the ordinary moments of our day-to-day lives.
Jesus, You are worthy to be praised;
help me to making praising Your name a lifelong habit.
Amen.
