YOU'RE IN IT TOO

“Since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily hinders our progress. And let us run with endurance the race that God has set before us.”

Our family loves its photo albums. Those myriad pictures of the past remind us of what’s important in life and teach us how to live in the future.How do they do it?

The albums tell the stories of parental pride as we walked down graduation aisles.

They show us learning teamwork as we scored the winning soccer goal—or didn’t.

They record the images of generations of ancestors who sacrificed everything to give their children the best they could.

Our Bible, too, is much like a family album, isn’t it? It surrounds us with the history of our faith-ancestors, just as if they were looking on to see how we will run forth with the message.

So next time you find yourself paging through your own family’s photo album, why not also reach for the album of God’s family?
