500g Harricot boontjies

12 koppies water

250g ham in blokkies gesny

2 eetlepels gekapte pietersielie

2 gekapte uie

1 fyngemaakte knoffelhuisie

5 gekapte seldery stingels plus die blare

1 teelepel sout

Spoel die boontjies af, bedek dit met water in ‘n groot pot en laat oornag week. Dreineer die boontjies, spoel dit weer af en plaas terug in die pot. Giet die 12 koppies water daaroor en bring tot kookpunt. Verlaag die hitte en prut vir 2 ure onbedek tot die boontjies sag is. Voeg dan al die ander bestanddele, behalwe die ham by en prut vir nog een uur. Voeg die ham by en laat dit vir nog 10 minute kook. Bedien warm met die brood van jou keuse.
