Makes about 375ml l Takes 25 min
Ingredients
500ml sugar
125ml water100g butter
160ml cream
3-5ml salt
Method
Heat the sugar and water on medium until dissolved.
Bring to boil and cook for about 15 minutes, without stirring, until a golden caramel forms.
Take off the heat and stir in the butter.
Slowly pour in the cream and salt, while stirring, until well combined.
Pour into sterilised jars and cool.
To Serve
Use as a spread on warm toast.
Combine with warm milk for a soothing caramel drink.
Serve with ice cream.
Fill pastry cases and top with whipped cream.
Sandwich two cookies together with the caramel in between.
