Asparagus Spears in Pastry

Innovative little treats to make on the braai, but also perfect baked in the oven at 200°C for 20 minutes.
Makes 24
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 15-20 minutes
4 sheets phyllo pastry
100ml butter, melted
24 spears of asparagus, ends trimmed salt and pepper to taste
1 Cut the phyllo pastry into 24 broad strips. Brush with butter on both sides. Keep the remaining strips covered while you work to prevent them drying out.
2 Wrap the buttered pastry around the asparagus spears, scrunching gently as you go to secure.
3 Braai over medium coals until golden brown with nice dark griddle marks. Season to taste and serve immediately with the spicy yoghurt dip!
