Makes 12-16 Prep time: 5 minutes Cooking time: 10-15 minutes
1 egg, lightly beaten
30ml mustard powder
1 packet ready-to-roll puff pastry
2 packets streaky bacon rashers
oil for frying
40ml parsley,
chopped sweet chilli sauce, for serving
Preheat the oven to 200°C. Beat together the egg and mustard powder. On a lightly floured surface, roll the pastry out to 5mm thickness. You may not need all the pastry, the remainder can be easily frozen.
Brush the sheet with the beaten egg and then cut it into strips about 5mm wide and roughly the same length as the bacon rashers.
Now fry the bacon lightly in oil for about 2 minutes on either side.
Take one pastry strip and one rasher and twist them together. Repeat this until all ingredients are used up. Place them on a lightly greased baking tray and brush them with beaten egg. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown. Serve warm, sprinkled with parsley and sweet chilli sauce.
