Steak and Cajun Rub

You could also try this Cajun rub on any firm

white fish, chicken or salmon.

Serves 6

Prep time: 5 minutes

Cooking time: 5 minutes

15ml cumin seeds

15ml coriander seeds

15ml garlic salt

15ml paprika

15ml black peppercorns

15ml dried basil

15ml dried oregano

15ml salt

6 sirloin or rump steaks

15ml sunflower oil

juice of ½ a lemon

Heat a non-stick frying pan and add the

cumin seeds, coriander seeds, garlic salt,

paprika, black peppercorns, dried basil, dried

oregano, salt, and toast for 1-2 minutes.

Put into a pestle and mortar and grind until

well combined.

Dip each side of the steaks into the spice rub

and cover and keep in the fridge until ready to

cook.

Brush with the oil and lemon juice. Cook for 2

minutes each side and serve.
