Wreaths scone recipe from a recipe I had for a long time.
I wanted to try this birisi.
A simple recipe to spice up your tea table.
Materials needed for a wreath buns
1 cup milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
5 tablespoons sugar
1 egg
1 package yeast Instant dry or wet
About 4 cups flour
For the filling
1 Turkish coffee cup tahini
1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
1 cup ground walnuts
3 tablespoons molasses
How to make wreath buns
Mix all the ingredients for the dough together and kneed untill it the dough is elastic and doesn't stick to your hands.
Let the dough rest and rise while you make the filling.
Mix everything for the filling together.
Kneed off the dough on a flour surface and roll out in oval shapes, 3mm thick.
Spread some of the filling over the dough oval.
Roll up the dough oval.
Cut through the roll in the lenght but leave the one end attached.
Shape the rolls in a wreath. See picture for instructions.
Place the wreath on a greased baking tray.
Brush with beaten egg yolk.
Let it rest and rise for 15 minutes.
Bake at 170 degrees C for 20 minutes, or untill a test pen comes out clean and it is golden brown at the top.
