Baked bean and bacon toastie, bacon recipe, brought to you by Woman's Day
Ingredients
2 rashers rindless bacon, halved
butter, for spreading
4 slices bread of choice
2 cheddar cheese slices
220 gcan baked beans
20 gspinach leaves
Steps
Preheat a sandwich press.
Heat a medium frying pan over high. Cook bacon 2-3 minutes each side until browned and crisp. Drain on paper towel.
Butter each slice of bread and put two buttered sides face down to make two sandwiches.
Place a slice of cheese on the top (unbuttered) side of each sandwich. Finish with a spoonful of beans, a rasher of bacon and half the spinach.
Lift the topped slices of bread onto the sandwich press, buttered side facing down. Place remaining bread slices on top, buttered side facing up.
Close press and cook 3-5 minutes, until golden and cheese has melted. Halve and wrap for later, or serve.
Tips
If you don't have a sandwich press, cook sandwich in a frying pan, with a little melted butter.
