A perfect rainy day dish - hunt's 1950's 7-layer casserole. just pop it in the oven and then curl up on the couch with a good book and enjoy the pitter-patter of rain drops while it cooks.

The great thing about these vintage casseroles is that you can update the flavors by adding things like fresh herbs, instead of canned corn use fresh or other fresh vegetable that you like. You can use your own homemade pasta sauce, if you like cheese add some grated parmesan or mozzarella, you could even substitute uncooked pasta for the rice. Have fun! Play with your food!
