Durban Fish Curry

INGREDIENTS:
1-11/2kg Fresh Fish (cleaned,washed and spiced separately
as for frying)
1⁄4 Cup Oil
1 Large Onion (finely chopped)
3 Large Tomatoes (chopped,grated or liquidised)
Few Sprigs Curry Leaves
1 Cup Tamarind Juice
*4-5 Cloves Garlic (pounded roughly)
*1 teaspoon Whole Methi (Fenugreek) (fenugreek seeds)
*1 teaspoon Whole Rye (black seed) (mustard seeds)
*1 teaspoon Whole Jeera (cumin seeds)
3 teaspoon Red Chilli powder
1 teaspoon Haldi (tumeric powder)
1-1⁄2 teaspoon dhania (coriander) powder
1-1⁄2 teaspoon Jeera powder
Salt To Taste
Fresh dhania (coriander)(Coriander Leaves) finely chopped for
garnishing...
METHOD:
Heat oil in a thick bottom wide pot..wen hot add onions
and spices marked with (*)..wen onions becum translucent and
spices stop popping..add tomatoes and let cook a few minutes
until oil appears on top..now add the rest of the spices
incl. the curry leaves...let it braise 4 abt 2mins...den add
tamarind juice and also 1-2 cups water...allow to cook for
abt 5mins...wen it starts sizzling,slowly place pieces of
masala fish into hot gravy...lower heat and let fish cook and
gravy thicken +/- 20mins...Lastly garnish with fresh
chopped dhania (coriander)...Serve with Rice or Roti...!!!
NB.U cn also add brinjal,green mangoes or green chillies 2
da gravy...ENJOY
