Vanilla roasted pears
SERVES 2

Cooking: 25 min
• 4 pears, cored and halved
• 2,5 ml (½ t) vanilla seeds
• 60 ml (¼ c) brown sugar
• 60 ml (¼ c) water
• vanilla ice cream to serve
Preheat oven to 180 ˚C.
1 Place the pears in a baking tray with the vanilla seeds. Sprinkle with sugar and water and roast for 25 minutes or until the pears are tender. Baste with the pan juices during roasting.
2 Arrange the pears on serving plates, drizzle with sauce from the baking tray and serve with ice cream.
