Holiday Butter Tarts

The Holiday Season is here and so is the latest delicious dessert from Gramma Macklem’s Kitchen!

The Christmas season is one of our favorite times of the year and this is just one of our many specialty dessert recipes. It’s one of the most wonderful times of the year with some of the most wonderful desserts to make every year!

Ingredients:

1 cup raisins.

1 cup brown sugar.

2 tbsps. margarine.

1 egg

1/2 tsp vanilla

1/2 tsp. nutmeg

Directions:

Put raisins in a bowl and scald with boiling water then drain.

While raisins are still warm, mix in brown sugar, margarine, and beaten egg.

Stir well for a few minutes and add vanilla and nutmeg.

Place into pastry cups and bake at 40ºF for about 15 minutes.
