Butter Muruku

This is one of the most famous snack in south india..

INGREDIENTS:

Rice flour 1/2 Cup Besan 1/4 Cup Roasted gram1/4 Cup Cumin seeds 1/4 Tsp Ghee or butter 2 Tbsp Salt as required OIL for deep frying

METHOD:

1.Powder the roasted gram into a fine powder. No need to roast it.

2.Combine the rice flour, gram flour and the roasted gram flour in a wide bowl and add the cumin seeds and asafoetida and salt.

3.Melt the ghee or butter and add this to the flour. Mix nicely and evenly. Add water little by little and knead it into a pliable dough.

4.Use the single star or lot of holes mould and start pressing the murruku in hot oil.

5.Cook till it turns golden brown.

6.Drain in a kitchen towel.You can enjoy this as an tea time snack.or good for kids tiffin

Notes: make sure the oil is hot before frying n store in airtight jar once cooled
