SOFT MOLASSES COOKIES

INGREDIENTS
½ c. butter softened
½ c. shortening
1½ c. sugar
½ c. molasses
2 eggs slightly beaten
4 c. flour
½ tsp. salt
2¼ tsp. baking soda
2¼ tsp. ground ginger
1½ tsp. ground cloves
1½ tsp. ground cinnamon
extra sugar for rolling
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat your oven to 350°. In a large mixing bowl cream together butter, shortening, and sugar until light colored and fluffy. Beat in molasses and eggs; set mixture aside. In a seperate bowl, combine flour, salt, baking soda, ginger, cloves and cinnamon. Whisk thoroughly and gradually mix flour mixture into creamed ingredients until dough is blended and smooth. Roll dough into 1½ in. balls and roll in granulated sugar. Arrange cookies 2½ in. apart on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350° for 11 minutes. Be extra careful NOT to over bake. Cool and store in an airtight container.
