The Ultimate Basting Sauce

INGREDIENTS 2 x 250 ml Coca Cola 300 ml Tomato Sauce 300 ml Worstershire Sauce 300 ml Soy Sauce 300 ml Chutney 5 Bay Leaves 50 m Honey 30 ml Salt 5 sprigs of Fresh Thyme 5 Garlic Cloves, crushed Combine all the ingredients in a saucepan and place over moderate coals. Simmer to reduce the sauce until it becomes nice and sticky (think the consistency of syrup). Use this to braai meat, shisa nyama style! One word of warning though: you’ll have to keep turning the meat! Because of the sugar content, it can burn easily.
