“I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love. Death can’t, and life can’t. The angels can’t, and the demons can’t. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, and even the powers of hell can’t keep God’s love away.”
Romans 8:38
• “Sometimes, Carol, I just sit still and let the Lord love me!” I had asked a friend how she conducted her prayer life, and her answer surprised me. I often think of praying as a task or even a duty to perform. But then I realized that I’ve had those times, too, when I sit in stillness and just drink in God’s love. At those times I’m convinced that I will be enveloped in His love forever, no matter what happens in my daily life here on earth. The wonderful thing is that not even our aloneness can separate us from the love of God. Thus, solitude becomes an adventure in spiritual growth, rather than another problem to be solved. Is it that way for you? Let God’s love permeate your heart and mind today.
