CUP OF COMFORT: A Love That Shows

• Each week I read online newspapers. Imagine my surprise recently when opening a Web page and seeing a photo of my longtime friend Jean posed with a big smile on her face. Waiting in line for a meal at a restaurant, she was unaware that her picture was being taken and was obviously just being friendly with the people around her. I met Jean thirty-one years ago when she married a child- hood friend. Jean’s openness endears her to many. Seeing her smiling face in the photo, I couldn’t help but think, “Jean is making new friends again.” Jean loves the Lord, and this is evident in her interaction with townspeople. How important that we show the light of Christ in our communities! And . . . in our faces. A smile just can’t hurt the cause!
