CUP OF COMFORT: Always Available

“Seek the LORD while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near.”

Isaiah 55:6

• I kept trying to get through, but the phone kept being busy. I needed to get this work done! Yet, in our busy world, it’s not uncommon to come up short when trying to reach busy people. Even women—how many are available during the day? So many of us are tied up with work, volunteering, chauffeuring the kids, or just determined to stay out of touch. Isaiah calls us to seek the Lord while He is near. It makes me realize how often I take God’s presence for granted. After all, He’s always near. But do I recognize Him? Do I take time to sink down into His love and enjoy His fellowship? He is here, yet there is a perfect time to call upon the Lord with all of my pressing needs and important messages—and that time is . . . now. God is always available, waiting for fellowship with us—but am I available to Him? —
