“Keep on asking and you will be given what you ask for.”
Luke 11:9
• “Can I have one of those good-smelling things you’ve been baking?” “Yes,” I responded, thinking he was rather bold. My banana- walnut muffins did smell good and must have been enticing. He ate the muffin without comment, and then asked, “May I have a glass of water?” This man who responded to my House for Sale sign didn’t follow the customary approach for anything. Instead of asking for an appointment when I opened the door, he said, “Can I come in?” After viewing my house, he asked for a muffin. When he left, I reflected for a few minutes. I couldn’t really feel upset with this fellow. I wasn’t afraid of him. He wasn’t rude or unfriendly. In a refreshingly straightforward and unpretentious way, he just asked for the things he wanted. He expected to receive them . . . and he did. Approach God in a simple and direct manner.
