“Can a mother forget her nursing child? Can she feel no love for a child she has borne? But even if that were possible, I would not forget you!”
Isaiah 49:15
• I was in complete control of my toddler’s safety. Our postage- stamp yard was fenced in and picked clean of debris. And a patio door allowed me to watch him as I prepared lunch in our kitchen. Imagine my surprise as I looked up and saw him put- ting something white into his mouth! Our lawn was covered with mushrooms that had sprouted overnight. I quickly phoned the doctor, then dosed my son with the recommended ipecac. But the word “poison” must have slipped from my mouth because he made a comment I will never forget: “Will I see Jesus now?” Sometimes I forget that my kids belong to God and that He loves them even more than I do. My little boy’s faith told him that no matter what happens, he doesn’t need to be afraid. Jesus is with him—down here or up there. Circumstances have no effect on God’s memory of us.
