“If Christ has not been raised, then your faith is useless.”
1 Corinthians 15:17
• The novel Portofno, by Frank Schaeffer, shows us a woman who uses a “Gospel Walnut” as a visual aid in presenting the Gospel. As the large plastic nut is broken apart, layer by layer, a new truth is revealed. Question: If you had to state the Gospel message in a nut- shell—in one brief sentence—how would you put it? Would your statement include reference to the Resurrection? It should, for there is no “Good News” without the best news of all: Jesus is no longer dead after His execution. Many people try to lump Christianity in with all the other world religions as just one more alternative. But is the Christian faith merely another fine philosophy of life? A laudable system of ethics? It certainly can claim such qualities. But it is so much more. It is a call to live for God today because His Son conquered death forever. Offer a prayer of thanks for Christ’s amazing accomplishment.
