Ingredients
  • 400 g sugar for the egg whites

  • 2 cups cold water

  • 4 large granny smith apple, sliced into 3 discs

Cooking Instructions
  1. Heat the sugar and water in a saucepan over a medium heat. Allow the sugar to dissolve and the mixture to reach a gentle boil.

  2. The sugar should start to brown after boiling for 5 minutes.

  3. Once it turns a golden colour, dip the base of the saucepan into iced water to stop the sugar from browning too much.

  4. Skewer the apples using long kebab sticks. Dip the apples into the toffee and turn to coat well. Hold over the saucepan to allow the excess toffee to drip off.

  5. Place the toffee apples on a silicone baking mat and allow them to harden before removing the sticks.

  6. Once cooled, arrange on a platter and serve.
