“Jesus reached out and touched the man.”
Luke 5:13
• One of my cats used to jump on my lap, kiss my chin, and fall back in my arms knowing I would hold her like a baby. I’d softly rub her head and scratch under her chin; she’d lean back in contentment and purr. And with closed eyes, she’d reach her paw up to touch my face for closer contact. We are cradled in God’s arms of love, but most of us find it hard to be completely relaxed. Sometimes we’re stiff and resistant to God’s warm assurances. Why? Is it because we’re used to being rebuffed by human hands? When Jesus touched people, His warmth and healing assured them of His love. Will I let His hand rest on me in this moment of quiet? Pause for a minute in your busy day: feel the touch of God.
