“When I had lost all hope, I turned my thoughts once more to the LORD.
And my earnest prayer went out to you in your holy Temple.”
Jonah 2:7
• I recently went through a health crisis involving anxiety attacks. I would wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat, shaking from head to toe, with an adrenaline rush that made me believe I was dying of a heart attack. I recall the worst part being the overwhelming sense of aloneness—and there is no greater fear than thinking, for even one moment, that you are completely alone in this world. I had truly lost all hope before my thoughts turned to the Lord. I would open the Bible and read aloud the promises of God until my heart was again at peace. And, true to His Holy Word, He helped me find healing through some wonderful therapies. Through it all, I have come to know this: I am never alone when He is there. There is always hope in the company of God. —
