“We will stay on the king’s road.”
Numbers 21:22
• My family and I once drove down the famous Lombard Street in San Francisco while on vacation. It’s the most crooked street in the world. Picture a snake as it slithers down a mountain. That’s what Lombard looks like from the top of the road. We accidentally came upon it while exploring, and halfway down we encountered a sign that said, No Thru Traffic. However, it was too late to turn around. Over the years I’ve learned many lessons while driving down the wrong roads. For example, it’s not always which road we choose that matters; it’s how we travel the road that deter- mines our destination. The Hebrews of old promised to stay on the king’s road without deviation, and we promise to stay on the straight and narrow path throughout our lives. But I wonder what twist or turn will try to throw me off track today or tomorrow. Let Him guide you around life’s sharp curves ahead.
