“He is like the light of the morning, like the sunrise bursting forth in a cloudless sky; like the refreshing rains that bring tender grass from the earth.”
2 Samuel 23:4
• A good friend of mine is blind. Though he’s never seen any- thing with his eyes, he often baffles me with his amazing ability to describe things in detail. Once I asked him if he could explain colors. He said he pictured yellow as hot, black as cold, red as passionate, and gray . . . that’s the color when the sun isn’t shining on his face. Instead of thinking of the sun, I thought of the Son, Jesus Christ. And because I know Him, I’ll never have to fear that His light won’t shine upon my face. Jesus calls us, as well, to be a bursting forth of light in a dark world. And why hide behind a cloud? There is nothing like the brilliance of Son-light breaking through after the rains. Reflect the Light that already fills your soul.
