Almond Caramel Square

1/3 c. butter 1/2 c. sugar 1 c. sifted all purpose flour 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. baking soda 4 Snicker bars or 10 fun size bars 2 tbsp. butter 2 tbsp. milk

1/2 c almonds 1/2 c. shredded coconut and few drops almond extract

Beat 1/3 cup butter with sugar. Sift flour, salt and soda over beaten mixture. Mix until crumbly. Reserve 1/2 cup crumbs for topping. Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture on bottom of 9 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan. Pat down firmly. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Melt SNICKERS® bars with 2 tablespoons butter and milk in a saucepan over very low heat. Add almonds and stir. Stir in coconut and almond extract. Spread chocolate mixture evenly over baked crumb mixture. Bake 12 minutes longer or until crumbs are golden. Cool on wire rack. Cut into squares.
