“Share each other’s troubles and problems, and in this way obey the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2
• Back and forth on the Internet my friend Kelly and I lamented our singleness—until Kelly posed a striking question: “Should we try focusing on praying for each other’s needs rather than beating our own to death?” “Yes, absolutely!” I said. We set a specific time to pray for each other, promising to report back. The result: How I view my singleness was changed forever. Before, I was wrapped up in what I want or don’t have. Now I think, Who better to pray for my single friends than me? I know what they are going through. I am not the only one beating on Heaven’s door, crying, “God, where is Mr. Right?” You’ve struggled? You may be wrestling with something now. Chances are, you’re not alone. But remember: When you take your eyes off your own struggles, you can see clearly how to help someone else. When your worries weigh you down, try praying for those who carry the same weight.
