FRUIT CLOUDS DESSERT Almost any type of fruit may be used in this versatile dessert - chopped apples, peeled plums or cherries, sliced bananas, diced pears, seedless grapes, blueberries, diced peaches or apricots, etc. Fruit cocktail is an easy choice any time of the year, but use whatever fruits are in season. We have also substituted vanilla or banana yogurt for the sour cream. If you want to add a little texture, sprinkle Grape-Nuts over the top just before serving.
2 cups sour cream 2/3 cup sugar 4 oz. Cool Whip or whipped cream 3/4 to 1 cup milk 1 (15-18 oz) can fruit cocktail, drained 1 small can pineapple chunks, drained 1 can Mandarin oranges, drained 1 cup mini marshmallows 1/2 cup flaked coconut 1/2 cup chopped Macadamia nuts or slivered almonds
In a large mixing bowl, beat sour cream, gradually adding sugar. Add the whipped topping and mix well. Beat in just enough milk so that mixture is thick but not stiff. Fold in fruit, marshmallows, coconut and nuts.
Makes about 8 servings.
