ORANGE SPICED PEACHES (WITH CINNAMON AND CLOVES) 1/2 c. sugar 1/4 c. butter 1/4 c. orange juice 1/8 tsp. nutmeg 1/8 tsp. powdered cloves 1/2 c. chopped walnuts 1 can (1 lb. 12 oz.) spiced peaches, drained (I always use just peach halves; never found spiced)

In a skillet, combine first 6 ingredients (sugar, butter, Orange juice, spices) and cook syrup at a low bubble for about 2 to 3 minutes or until the sugar is totally dissolved. Add the nuts and cook for 1 minute more (nuts are optional). Place drained peaches in one layer, close together, in an 8 inch shallow baker. Pour syrup and nuts evenly over the fruit. Refrigerate until ready to serve. (Can assemble the day before.)

20 minutes before serving, heat in 350 degree oven until heated through. Serve warm, not hot. (Make extras; these invite seconds!)
