“I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love.”
Ephesians 3:17
• As a Mother’s Day present, my children gave me a lovely hibiscus plant with peach-colored flowers that matched our living room drapes. We enjoyed the plant immensely when it was new to our home but soon noticed the leaves turning yellow. I watered it faithfully and moved it to a sunnier area. Nothing I did seemed to help. Then one day I noticed tiny white bugs flying around the leaves. I purchased insecticide and have been fumigating ever since. How could such a lovely plant go downhill so quickly? And what work it is to keep it barely alive! Not so with us. Yes, we too need to grow and blossom and produce fruit. But we draw from a special soil assuring us of continued health. Nothing is required—but to grow and be thankful. God’s love flls us with every form of nourishment and light.
