CHILI CHEESE BURGER 1 large green bell pepper 1/2 onion, chopped 1/2 tsp. oregano 2 jalapeno peppers 1 poblano pepper 1/2 tsp. garlic powder 1/2 tsp. onion powder 4 hamburger patties 4 buns or soft rolls 2 tbsp. butter salt and pepper, to taste
Chop peppers and onion and sauté in saucepan for 3 minutes. Add oregano, garlic powder and onion powder and simmer for 30 minutes over low heat. Season patties with salt, pepper, and a sprinkling of garlic and onion powder. Grill or sauté hamburger until done (about 10 minutes).
Top grilled hamburger with green chili sauce, then melt a slice of cheese over the top (under the broiler or in the microwave).
Spread split rolls with 1/2 tbsp. butter each and grill or toast until golden.
Serve hamburger and melted cheese on the butter grilled bun with a few slices of fresh ripe tomato, several slices of red onion and shredded lettuce on top.
