Waffles

Ingredients: • 750ml cake flour (360g) • 5ml salt • 30ml baking powder • 75g margarine or butter • 30ml Illovo Traditional Syrup • 375ml milk • 3 large eggs, separated
Method: 1. Sift flour, salt and baking powder into a mixing bowl. 2. Gently heat margarine and syrup together until melted. Remove from heat and blend in milk and egg yolks thoroughly. Pour onto dry ingredients and whisk together well to obtain a smooth batter. 3. Whisk egg white until stiff peaks form and gently fold into batter. 4.Bake waffles in preheated, greased waffle iron. 5. Serve with ice-cream and your favourite Illovo dessert topping.
Makes 9 round Belgian style waffles
