“We don’t even know what we should pray for, nor how we should pray. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.”
Romans 8:26
• I sit in my favorite chair this morning with hands lifted in praise. What is going through my mind? I’m not quite sure. This is a moment to remind myself: Many prayers need no words. My life with the Great Listener goes far beyond my ability to formulate grammatically correct sentences. Or to dig deep into my soul to describe with verbs and adjectives, as best I can, what I know and want and feel. God’s Spirit is a hearer of our souls. And when we choose to unveil them, our souls are always revealed before the All- Knowing in a pristine purity of truth. Our job is simply to recognize that we are engaged in a remarkable celestial conversation every moment of every day. Even now. Let your prayers of the heart never stop engaging God’s mind.
