Can You Hear Me Now?

“The LORD hears his people when they call to him for help.
He rescues them from all their troubles.”
Psalm 34:17
• My friend told her young son it was time for his nap. “Papaw,” he called, as he started to cry. “Papaw!” Trevor’s grandfather was hundreds of miles away, but he knew if anyone could keep him from his mother’s proposed nap, it was his beloved Papaw. Throughout the Scriptures, we read of many who called out to the Heavenly Father when needing help. The Hebrews called when Pharaoh and his army were chasing them, King David called when the guilt of adultery and murder slammed into his soul, and the ten lepers called when they needed a touch on their physical bodies. Unlike Trevor’s Papaw, God is always within hearing distance when we call. Problem is, will we pick up the phone and dial? God promises to hear whenever we call out to Him.
