“There is a special rest still waiting for the people of God.
For all who enter into God’s rest will find rest from their labors,
just as God rested after creating the world.”
Hebrews 4:9–10
• “Take your base!” My son Dan, the Little League pitcher, had loaded the bases—again. As his coach strolled out to the mound, I imagined the advice: “Don’t try to aim the ball, Dan. Just let it go.” As every athlete knows, trying to force a shot or a throw tightens the muscles, tenses the mind, raises the panic factor (“Suppose I miss!”), resulting in the classic “choke”—a wild blunder. “Just relax” is much more than a polite word of advice; it’s an essential part of the game.
