FRENCH FRENCH TOAST! 1 loaf French bread 6 lg. eggs 1 c. heavy cream 1/4 c. honey 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg 1/4 tsp. vanilla 3 tbsp. butter, melted 1 c. maple syrup, warmed 1/2 pt. basket strawberries or other berries

Cut bread into 1 inch thick slices. In large bowl beat eggs, cream, honey, nutmeg and vanilla until well mixed. In 8 inch square baking dish, place bread slices. Pour egg mixture over bread, turning to coat evenly. Cover dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 2 hours but better if overnight.

Heat oven to 400 degrees. Line a jelly roll pan with tin foil and arrange bread slices in single layer and bake 15-20 minutes or until golden brown, turning once through the baking time.

To serve, brush the French toast with melted butter and garnish with fresh berries. Pass the warmed syrup at the table.
