CHEESE-FILLED DOUBLE-DECKER BURGERS

CHEESE-FILLED DOUBLE-DECKER BURGERS 2 pounds lean ground beef 3 cloves garlic, minced 2 tbsp. fresh Italian parsley, minced 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. black pepper 1 cup shredded cheese (any kind) 1/4 cup ketchup 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard 1/2 cup chopped celery 1/4 cup sliced green onion
In a large bowl, mix garlic, parsley, salt and pepper. Shape ground beef into 16 thin patties. Combine remaining ingredients.
Broil burgers over low, glowing coals until brown on under side; turn. Top half of patties with the cheese mixture; brown patties on underside.
Cover cheese-topped burgers with plain patties. Serve in butter-toasted hamburger buns. May also be used as the main dish, topped with gravy and served without buns.
Makes 8 burgers.
