“Christ, who suffered for you, is your example. Follow in his steps.”

1 Peter 2:21

• My goal was to reach the high point of the Great Sand Dunes, but climbing 750 vertical feet of sand wasn’t easy. Often my feet would slip or bog down. The task became more manageable when my husband made a trail for me to follow. He reached for my hand and, as I carefully stepped into his footprints, I moved upward without faltering. I thought of other footprints I’d followed in my life. Some of them gave me a solid foundation, like the faith of my parents. Others led me astray. As I placed another foot into my husband’s tracks, I decided there was only one set of prints completely reliable: the footsteps of Christ. He holds my hand and reveals my life’s course, step by step. Following the footprints of Jesus, we can be sure of our path.
