“Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the LORD our maker.”
Psalm 95:6
• The servant enters and walks down the marble-columned hall to the steps of the throne. She stops in front of the august personage and slowly bends at the waist, letting her body display the state of her heart. She bows low and stays that way for many moments. Here is complete servant-hood, loving respect, and even a healthy fear. The “good life” surely must include a recognition that my many blessings have not come to me merely as a result of my innate brilliance or ingenious planning! Life does not work that way. In fact, perhaps the whole of our life is simply an invitation to perfect the art of worship. Both our blessings and our crises summon us to bow before the sovereign Lord. How good, then, to take time for worship in my day! Bow your body to the honor of the only Being who deserves your reverent adoration.
