Sans Souci is an all-girls public high school that welcomes pupils from a diversity of backgrounds. For more than five decades it has been producing extraordinary young women, as evidenced by our high achieving Alumnae. Our pupils are encouraged to respect others and the environment, to act with integrity and to develop a social conscience that reflects our school motto: “Learn to be of Service”. Being in an all-girls school allows for many leadership opportunities and a greater development of confidence and self-awareness. These attributes are consistently nurtured under the guidance of our dedicated staff.

Academics
Sans Souci Girls’ High School prides itself on academic excellence. This is reflected in consistently high results in the National Senior Certificate Examinations each year.
The Arts
Sans Souci is known for its achievements in the Arts. Our musicians, drama girls and artists are frequently invited to participate in important events in the outside community.
Sport
Sans Souci offers Tennis, Softball, Netball, Hockey and Swimming. The pupils are trained by professional coaches and compete in provincial and national competitions.
Societies & Other Activities
We have a busy extramural, intra- and co-curricular programme that allows each pupil opportunities to develop a broad range of skills.

Why Girls Only
Girls-only high schools are ideal learning environments for young women, as their cognitive, social and physiological growth rates differ from those of boys. All-girls schools also provide greater leadership opportunities.

Sans Souci Girls’ High School is proud to be part of the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship programme.
The Rhodes Scholarships are postgraduate awards supporting outstanding all-round students at the University of Oxford, and providing transformative opportunities for exceptional individuals
These scholarships to Oxford University (www.ox.ac.uk) were founded by the will of Cecil John Rhodes and have been operating since 1903. The Scholarship is for full time study and pays your entire tuition fee. It also provides you with a comfortable living allowance of not less that £13,000 per year, and pays the cost of transport for you and your necessary belongings to and from Oxford.
There are nine scholarships available in South Africa. Four of these are available to all South Africans and are known as the South Africa-at-Large Scholarships. In addition, Cecil Rhodes made specific provision for one scholar from KZN and one each from four schools – to which the Rhodes Trust has added identified partner schools. Sans Souci has been identified as a partner school to one of the four schools: namely, SACS. There is a further Scholarship for applicants from Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia and Swaziland (the BLMNS Scholarship). Any Sans Souci alumnae who fit the eligibility criteria below are encouraged to apply.
