“The LORD is my light and my salvation—so why should I be afraid?”
Psalm 27:1
• Has your imagination ever run wild? I got goose bumps when I heard the tapping noise behind me. I was driving to church on a dismal, foggy night, down a lonely mountain road. You never lock the car, I thought, and you didn’t check the backseat. Someone could be there and you’d never know it. Nervously, I glanced in the rear view mirror. A veil of darkness. Tap, tap, tap. By this time, my heart pounded and the hair on my neck stood at attention. I spoke into the darkness, “Lord, You are my light and my salvation, and I refuse to fear. If anyone else is in this car, I will not be harmed.” Tap, tap, tap. Finally, I reached an intersection. When I turned to peer into the backseat, my coat constricted my movements. The belt was caught in the door, its buckle tap-tap-taping in the breeze. Calling upon the Lord will always give you strength.
