“Come to me with your ears wide open. Listen, for the life of your soul is at stake.” Isaiah 55:3
• “Truck,” announces my little daughter cheerfully every morning as I enter her room. Sometimes she’s gesturing to a delivery truck idling outside her bedroom window. Sometimes she’s observing the school bus making steady progress down our street. Sometimes, there is no truck. Nevertheless, she greets me every morning with “truck.” Her persistence in greeting every dawn with the confidence that—with time and patience—her call of “truck” will indeed be answered, reminds me of the persistence of God in my life. Every day He calls me by name to come into His presence. Some days I come quickly like the school bus and then depart filled with what is perceived as a “full load of God” for the day. Other days I linger like the delivery truck and slowly replenish my stores. Even when I do not come at all, still He calls. Every day, God calls us into relationship with Him.
