Can You Think a Little Higher?

“Just as the heavens are higher than the earth,

so are my ways higher than your ways and

my thoughts higher than your thoughts.”

Isaiah 55:9

• I love radio. I don’t completely understand how it works, though. It came into being at the end of the nineteenth century, so before that, all we had were letters, lights, telegraph, fags, birds, and smoke to communicate across the distances. (You can probably think of other ways.) Then came radio, with the sound of the human voice wafting through the air. The rest is history. My point is, who could have imagined such a thing just a generation earlier? And who of us can even imagine the new inventions to come just a generation from now? Our imaginations are pitifully limited. So it’s important, when it comes to our relationship with God, that we not let our thoughts limit His true ability for us. Let us pray, hope, and think high thoughts worthy of our Heavenly Father. Our most depressing problems are nothing compared to God’s awesome power.
