“We have all benefited from the rich blessings he brought to us—
one gracious blessing after another.”
John 1:16
• I thought about this verse of Scripture for a long time. And the more I thought, the more I marveled at the great promise it contained. I began to realize, ever increasingly, that the circumstances in my life are not what define me, but rather, my point of view is. It’s like the “glass-half-full/glass-half-empty” principle. Not only is it for me to see that my whole life is surrounded by God’s blessings, but it is also for me to be like Jesus and offer blessings to all those I meet. That’s how this verse stays true generation after generation. And that’s why I’ve decided to keep my point of view focused on Jesus and His ways—complete with all the promises of joy, peace, love, and hope His loving words profess. The gracious blessings of God benefit us all!
