Lights, Action!

“Though your hearts were once full of darkness,

now you are full of light from the Lord, and your behavior should show it!”

Ephesians 5:8

• My two-mile walk took me out of my residential area into open space. Early one Sunday morning, the Colorado National Monument glowed like embers as the rising sun shone on red rock formations. Then, as I hiked up the last rise, a hot-air balloon rose between the pinnacles. As the yellow-, blue-, and red-striped bulb ascended slowly and silently into the sky, the sienna rocks accentuated its colors. The scene still vibrates in my mind. Light turns dull into exciting. Light shows us the way along the path. Light helps us see things we would miss otherwise. Jesus is the Light of the World. He loves, saves, and sustains us. His light gives our dull lives purpose. And full of Jesus’ light, we can reflect His love to others. Ask Jesus to light up your life.
