“Not even a sparrow, worth only half a penny,
can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it.”
Matthew 10:29
• Kayla, our seven-year-old granddaughter, told me how much she still misses Leo, the family cat who died a year ago. Pets aren’t allowed by the new rental agreement Kayla’s mother signed, but I could keep a pet for her at our house. I prayed, “Lord, help me fnd a cat for Kayla.” Yesterday when Kayla was visiting us, she said, “Grandma, come see! This cat looks just like Leo.” My husband recognized the orange-and-white kitten taking a nap on our porch. Our neighbor Mary had been feeding it—until moving recently. She’d been concerned about what would happen to the strays she left behind. Now, whose prayer was answered—Mary’s, Kayla’s, or mine? Perhaps all three. The orange kitten brought her salmon- colored brother and their calico mother with her to our house to feast on tuna. Three stray kitties got a new home. God cares about the details of our lives.
