Hot Fudge Ice Cream Cake like Bob’s Big Boy
Ingredients Chocolate Cake 1 package chocolate cake mix 4 large eggs 1 cup sour cream 1/2 cup warm water 1/2 cup vegetable oil
Instructions 1. Place the rack in the centre of the oven and set the temperature to 350 degrees. Prepare two square baking pans with shortening and a light dusting of cocoa. set aside. 2. Place the cake mix, eggs, sour cream, warm water, and oil in bowl of an electric mixer. Blend on low for about one minute. Stop the machine and scrape down then increase the mixer speed to medium and beat for two to three minutes. The batter will be thick. 3. Divide the batter between the two pans Make sure the batter is well distributed to the edges of the pans. 4.Bake the cake until the centre springs back when lightly pressed and the sides just begin to pull away. Begin watching around 30 minutes. 5.Remove from the oven and set for 5 minutes. Turn over on wire rack. How to Assemble Hot Fudge Cake You may wait until the cake is fully cooled or prepare this dessert with the cake slightly warm. Cut the cake into squares - you can determine how big! Divide each square piece in half horizontally. Place the bottom of the slice in the dessert dish. Using good vanilla ice cream, turn out the whole container onto a cutting board and slice squares of the ice cream from the bottom. Place the square of the ice cream on the bottom layer of the cake and top ice cream with the top of the cake. Drizzle hot fudge sauce over the top of the cake. Place a dollop of real whipped cream atop the cake and finally top with a maraschino cherry.
