A Fragrant Provision

“They are a sweet-smelling sacrifice that is acceptable to God and pleases him.” Philippians 4:18
• Gail wrote us from Papua, New Guinea, far away from family and friends. She’d received our missionary box, which included one of her favorite foods: macaroni and cheese. As it cooked, she thought of Paul when he thanked others for the gifts he received: “I am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent. They are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.” The treats were fragrant, a touch of home. She had been on the mission field for over a year and something as simple as macaroni and cheese brought her close once again. We have all been at a place in our lives where we just needed that extra touch or smile . . . maybe something as simple as macaroni and cheese. Has God prompted you to offer that kind of sacrifice for someone today? It pleases God when we provide for His servants.
